CHF 113'454.- for childrens in Switzerland

The 17th run4kids event in Zurich saw 700 runners from 25 companies gathering in Zürichhorn park to make their own personal contribution to the well-being of children in Switzerland. The run was a resounding success, raising funds to a total of CHF 113'454.50. Proceeds from this year's event will go to fit4future, Switzerland's biggest school scheme promoting healthy living, as well as the Förderverein für Kinder mit seltenen Krankheiten (Swiss association for children with rare diseases) and the youth division of Swiss athletics club TV Unterstrass.

Organisations funded in 2017

Cleven Foundation – «fit4future»

50 per cent of the proceeds will go to «fit4future». The project is organised by the Cleven Foundation, which has been committed to promoting preventative action and healthy living among children since 2004.

 

 

TV Unterstrass

10 per cent of the proceeds will go to the youth department of LAC LAC TV Unterstrass. The Zurich-based athletics club has being making sure the run4kids event runs smoothly ever since it first took place in 2001

Association for children with rare diseases

A total of 40 per cent of the proceeds raised from the run will be donated to the Förderverein für Kinder mit seltenen Krankheiten. There are around 350,000 children and young people suffering from rare diseases in Switzerland. Their families are faced with uncertainty and countless challenges every day, and they have to overcome these challenges with incredible courage and spirit. The Förderverein für Kinder mit seltenen Krankheiten has been campaigning for these children and their families since 2014, arranging direct financial aid for those affected and creating platforms to bring these families together. More than 700 runners completed laps of the run4kids course in 2017, following the motto “if you’re taking part, you’ve already won”. Winners were announced in four different categories:
